Birdfair is an amazing celebration of nature and an action packed and fun event to attend. Tens of thousands of people visit the event each year. Now in its 31st year, this is the biggest event of its kind in the world.
Since its beginning in 1989, the fair has generated more than five million pounds, which has gone towards a wide range of conservation projects.
My last talk there in 2017; Conservation with a Camera went really well, so it was great to be back having been invited to this year’s event by the organisers to give two talks.
I delivered two talks over two days starting firstly on the opening day with my “Best of British” talk. Showing those that attended some of the stunning wildlife of the British Isles through the different seasons we have.
“Best of British” –
“Witness some of the amazing wildlife we have here in the UK with my talk that celebrates all that is beautiful in our British countryside. From my early life as a member of the YOC – (young ornithologist club) to the present my talk will show you why I’m so passionate about our stunning wildlife here in the British Isles.
For the last ten years I’ve photographed a lot of that wildlife spending time in places where I grew up in and found my passion for the natural world. From the Peak District to as far as the Shetland isles to our dramatic coastline I will show and inspire you with the best of British wildlife.” – craig jones – wildlife photographer
My second talk on day two was ”Fantastic Falklands” covering the wildlife on the Falkland Islands. A place like no other when it comes to the amazing array of wildlife that is incredibly trusting there.
“Fantastic Falklands” –
“The Falkland Islands is a unique place in the South Atlantic. Its home to some truly spectacular wildlife that have little or no fear of humans. My presentation will bring to life the islands incredible wildlife, showing their beauty among this amazing place that is a little part of Britain.”
Birdfair have supported a wide range of fantastic conservation projects over the years, having risen over £5m which is just fantastic. It was a great privilege to be involved in this year’s event.
I hope those that turned up to my talks really enjoyed my presentations and I inspired you all to just get outdoors and witness the amazing natural world that is all around us.
Lastly, I’d like to say thank you to the organisers for the invite and all the very best for the future, many thanks.
